Creepy Hands

Mama Wore: Dress from Korea/Belt is Vitage/Bag from Paris/Shoes from Taipei

I was in Taiwan when I spotted this sculpture that resembled my vintage belt. The belt creates the illusion that you have two hands around your waist. My friend told me it’s a sculpture for the labor union. I have been always obsessed with a woman’s hands especially when accompanied with drawn-in jewelry or accessories.

Recently, my mom spotted this special belt buried in my pile of clothes and I swear her tiny Korean body jumped 3 feet off the ground.

She said it was “Jing Gu Ruh,” which means creepy. I was perplexed since I always thought of this belt as dainty and beautiful, but since Halloween is right around the corner–I do keep seeing amputated hands with blood.

I guess I see her point.

Happy Halloween everybody!
